Donna Jeanne (Schoof) Muller

June 10, 1934 ~ November 16, 2018 (age 84)

Donna Jeanne Muller, 84, of Council Grove, Kansas passed away November 16, 2018, at Diversicare of Council Grove.

She was born June 10, 1934 in rural Morris County, to Waldo and Mildred (Burnett) Schoof.  She attended Sunny Side and Four Mile country schools and graduated from Council Grove High School in 1952.  She attended Kansas State University from 1952 to 1954 and Emporia State Teachers College, obtaining her teaching certificate. 

Donna married Kenneth Dean Muller in 1955.  They had three children:  Suzanne, Richard and Todd.  She taught at Lull and Morning Star Schools for three years.   Donna was a home maker and farm wife living in the Four Mile Community.  In 1969, she went to work at Council Grove High School as a study hall supervisor.  She worked at the Morris County Treasurers Office and was appointed Treasurer. She held the position until 1992, then worked as a bookkeeper for Bolton Chrysler, until her retirement in 2004. Donna and Kenneth divorced in 1991, and she moved into town.

Donna was an active member of Council Grove Christian Church.  She enjoyed working with youth as a leader for the Four Mile 4-H Club and later for the Flint Hill 4-H Club; she also served on the Morris County Fair Board and was a founding member of the Morris County 4-H Foundation.

She enjoyed making cinnamon rolls, reading, making cards and scrapbooking.  She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  She was supportive to her kids and grandkids in all their activities.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and son Todd Muller in 2001.

She is survived by her daughter Suzanne Hokett and husband Joe, of Salina and Richard Muller and wife Tammy, of Council Grove.  Also surviving are her sister Janis Holm, of Council Grove; granddaughter Megan McNeil and husband Henry, of Omaha, NE and grandson Ty Muller, of Austin, TX.  And numerous step grand-children and great-grand-children.

A visitation for family and friends with coffee and cinnamon rolls will be held from 9:30 to 11:00AM, Friday, December 21st, at Council Grove Christian Church.  A memorial service will be at 11:00AM, with inurnment following at Four Mile Cemetery.
